I saw this mother’s day card at Target that shows a mother asking –Are they 18 yet? Obviously she was tired of young kids and all of the commotion they bring to a household. For everyone who asks that question–trust me–they’ll be 18 before you know it, at least in retrospect. Babies are so sweet and precious, truly a gift from God. Preteens, teenagers and 20 somethings are also a gift from God, but sometimes it is easy to forget that fact when as a mother your patience is tested over and over again. So this mother’s day try to remember your children as they were when they were babies, be grateful for how they are growing and changing now, but most of all remember to thank God for allowing you the opportunity to be a mother. And if you’re lucky enough to still have an influence on them, seize the moment–teach them and love them. Time passes quickly on…their childhood will be but a memory kept alive by photographs, scrapbook pages and old toys. I don’t mean to sound judgmental–I just know I somewhat wished my kids’ childhood away and I would hate for that to happen to anyone else. 😀
