Another Great Customized Gift Idea…

Hi everyone.  Krista Sahlin of Sahlin Studio posting on Andrea’s blog to share my newest product at ScrapMatters.  Are you looking for that perfect holiday gift?

I know what you’re thinking… holiday shopping already?? It can be difficult to find that perfect
gift for significant others, parents, grandparents or yourself.

I have a great idea for a classic, timeless gift that will be enjoyed everyday.
A gorgeous piece of artwork. And by artwork, I mean a canvas print of your loved ones.
What is a canvas print? A canvas print is where a photo is blended beautifully with natural
textures, grain, meaningful text, custom images and color to create an image perfect for printing on canvas. Perfect to create the gift of a lifetime.

Custom Canvas Design by Sahlin Studio:

A custom canvas art design to display in your home, office or any place needing beautiful art work.

Here are some examples of my completed work:

There are other examples in the Custom Canvas product listing in my shop at ScrapMatters.

I will work with you to design a custom canvas art work beautiful enough to display in the finest of galleries. Whether you want a canvas of each child, your wedding photo, your family, the kids together or all of the above. These also would be beautiful done with photos of your home, cabin or favorite vacation spot. I’ve created a multiple canvas discount, because when I am working on a canvas I have all of my “tools” out and it is extra easy to just change out images and start working on my next custom canvas design project.
It is much easier to do two or three in a row, than it is to do one today and the others tomorrow.

Custom Canvas Design prices are as follows:
Custom Canvas (1 Design) – $45
Custom Canvas (2 Designs) – $65
Custom Canvas (3 Designs) – $80

Pricing includes the custom digital canvas design. You are able to your take your design to a printer of your choice or I can help you select a printer. I’ve found canvas printing prices to be very affordable (who knew?) Canvas printing ranges by size and company (I have found superior quality work that can be printed around $30-$55).

Which makes your CUSTOM artwork only around $85 for a 12 x 12 print (custom designed, printed and shipped) to your home!!

Can you think of a better gift?? And SO original!!

Here are some more detailed pictures of canvas prints that are gallery wrapped. When a canvas is “gallery wrapped” the printed portion of the canvas continues around the sides and the back. No frame is needed to display your custom print.

November already!!!

Wow!  Where has 2009 gone? It is so hard for me to believe that November is here already.  The count down is on towards Thanksgiving and  Christmas.  I am feeling so far behind.  Is there anyone else but me that is feeling overwhelmed by this?  I usually try to make our gifts for extended family and I haven’t even decided yet exactly what I am doing.

I do plan on making calendars for several people on my gift list.  My CT made this gorgeous and practical, easy to personalize calendar for me to sell in my shop at ScrapMatters.  It uses a variety of my kits and it turned out so nice.  They even made a non-Christmas December and two different Augusts.  You just need to pop pictures in place on the top page and personalize the bottom calendar grid with birthdays if you want.  Just click on the picture below to see it up close and personal in my shop at ScrapMatters.

Here are some sample pages–there are more on the product page (click image above to go to product page).

If you want to make a personalized 2010 calendar but aren’t sure where to get started or how to insert pictures into the pages, please leave me a comment and I will be happy to help you.  The calendar is created using png files which should work in Microsoft Word, Publisher or probably even Microsoft Works.  The calendar files will also work in Paint Shop Pro, Creative Memories Storybook Creator Plus and a variety of other photo-editing programs.  Also if you create one I would love to see it.  Send me a link to where you have it posted.

HAPPY NOVEMBER ONE & ALL!

Fall Frolic–Funtastic Kit and Freebies from Andilynn Designs

Sorry!!! I know I told you I had a new digital scrapbook kit, some coordinating items and a freebie coming out yesterday.  I fully intended to write this post yesterday.  But the Kirby dog got sick and I spent quite a bit of time Thursday night and yesterday taking care of him.  So I am late again!  The story of my life, sometimes I wonder why I bite off so much, but I just can’t seem to help it.

So here are my new goodies for this week, all of the images are linked to their spot in my store at ScrapMatters.  I had such a blast making this kit.  It was kind of funny though the blue started out a lot more gray.  As the weather here in Seattle turned gray the gray started turning into blue.  I miss the blue skies.  The freebie is further down in the post, my not so subtle way of trying to get you to read to the end of  the post.

Look at how my CT rocked this kit.  They came up with some fabulous LOs–the images are clickable so you can go give them some love if you want to.  But make sure you read to the end of the post for some good, old-fashioned savings on Fall Frolic–the kit and/or the word art and/or the bonus alphas.

Scrapbooking and Walking to Save Lives…

Brynn, one of our community members at SM is walking in her local March for Babies.  She and her family have been asked to be the March of Dimes’ Ambassador Family in their community.   In order to raise awareness for their walk and all of the good that the March of Dimes is doing to prevent premature births and help infants who are born prematurely reach their potential we at SM decided to let Brynn post her cause in our forum.  I also was so impressed with Brynn and her family that I wanted to post her struggles and insights on my blog.

As a NICU nurse I have seen so many different babies come into this world with less than optimal circumstances.  Most of the parents valiantly rise to the occasion and show tremendous courage and strength just like Brynn and her husband.  So even though I have not met Brynn personally, I have met many others like her and my hat goes off to them all.

If you get a chance you might want to go look through Brynn’s gallery at SM.  She’s participating in the Queen of Scrap competition too!

If you would like to help donate to this cause please click the links and give generously.  Here is the link she posted on her layout below: http://www.marchforbabies.org/picklejuice_7

Here is Brynn’s post from the ScrapMatters’ Forum:

(click picture for credits)

My husband and I have been asked to be the Ambassador Family for the March of Dimes in our community and are going to be participating in a walk, March For Babies, in one week. We’ve been having a hard time spreading the word about the fundraising and sponsorship. I don’t know why I didn’t think of SM sooner! Thank you so much Andrea for helping us out! It means a lot.

My husband and I feel very strongly about this opportunity, and great organization because of our experiences we’ve had and still have with our premature twins the past year and a half. (They were born at 23 weeks, 4 months early). If you are interested in a little background history you can go to this website: Team Tuft Twins

At this site you can also donate to the March of Dimes if you are able to (the deadline is this Saturday). And even if you can’t donate, please take a look anyway. We are happy to be able to share our story with everyone and give a little insight into what it’s like to have an extremely premature infant. And to hopefully be able to give hope and support to those that need it. Also, if you could please pass this info on to others you may know as well. We could use all the help and support we can get!!!

The March of Dimes Mission is to ” improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. We carry out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies’ lives. March of Dimes researchers, volunteers, educators, outreach workers and advocates work together to give all babies a fighting chance against the threats to their health: prematurity, birth defects, low birthweight.”

Our family will also be featured in our local newspaper tomorrow (Sun, April 10th) so I’ll update this post with a link to the article when it comes out too.

Here’s the article from the newspaper

My Idea of Paradise–SM Blog Train Starts Here…

Welcome to paradise–at least my version of it! This is the first stop on the ScrapMatters blog train. Thanks for stopping by…

My Portuguese-Hawaiian great-grandma was born in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii and I have grown up hearing stories from my family of how great Hawaii is.  Since we lived in Seattle, WA, USA far away from Hawaii, no one ever took me there.  But my mom, grandma and great-grandma would go visit whenever they could, after scrimping and saving for months, sometimes even years it seemed.  But because I had never been there before I just didn’t understand the magic.

Well in 2000 I went to Maui and found out about the magic first hand.  Brad and I loved it, we had the best trip.  And no I haven’t scrapbooked the pictures yet!  That was before digital cameras and I still have to scan in each one. Some of my favorite memories of that trip to Maui were the Road to Hana dotted with waterfalls, caves and black sand beaches, eating dinner with a group of good friends at Mama’s Fish House, taking a helicopter ride around the island and snorkeling at Molokini. It was so beautiful, warm and relaxing and I have often wanted to return, but the opportunity hasn’t presented itself amidst paying college tuition, home repairs and the like.

But now I am so excited, Brad and I get to go to Oahu next month with my brother and his wife.  Just thinking about the trip makes me smile…

Here is a little quick page I made to share with you. It is using the SM Design Team’s wonderful mega-collab Hawaiian Happy Hour.  It’s free with a $15 purchase from ScrapMatters.
